Because men and women are different sexually, it is critically important that you are able to communicate your needs, wants, and preferences. As mentioned in last weeks blog, women are much more complicated in that they have many areas of their bodies that are sensitive to stimulation and often what is responsive in one encounter will not be during another.
Sex requires continuing education. You may not need to renew your credentials but you do need to refresh your lovemaking with new awareness of your and your mate’s needs, wants, desires, and bodies.
Life is serious enough. When you are stretched to the max, you tend to lose your emotional elasticity and become more inflexible and exacting- on yourself and others. Your alert center in the brain pushes you to stay on top of situations and remain in management mode.
Ever feel that life gets so crazy busy that it’s hard to find time to connect with your mate? The pulls of job responsibilities, kids activities, outside commitments all seem to stretch you to the max, to the point where finding the margin in your schedule to nurture your marriage seems like an uphill battle.
The second two weeks in Ethiopia was spent in the capital, Addis Ababa. My husband and I have been teaching a course on marriage and family issues at a theological college for the past twelve years.
